Job Title: Operations Analyst

Job Description:Seeking a full time Operations Analyst to support Readiness Effectiveness Measurement programs (SHAREM/SURFREM/MIREM). Candidate should be a results-oriented individual, capable of providing customer satisfaction and maintaining partnerships.

Representative duties include:

  • Ensuring validity of ASW/SUW/AAW/MIW measures of effectiveness (MOEs) and measures of performance (MOPs) are used to accurately quantify exercise results.
  • Conducts statistical trend analysis on ASW/SUW/AAW/MIW sensor and weapon data to incorporate multiple exercise results and ascertain system performance and tactics effectiveness.
  • Investigates the validity of probabilistic models and algorithms resident in proposed tactical decision aids.
  • Communicates exercise results in oral and written formats to representatives of naval commands, engineering tabs Program Offices.
  • Providing insight during ad hoc ASW/SUW/AAW/MIW workshops and conferences and responds to statistical queries of system performance.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Operations Research.
  • Significant years experience in the analysis and at-sea observation of CRUDES combat systems, sensors and weapons.
  • Significant years experience in performing naval operations analysis, including applications of Detection Theory, Search Theory, Probability Theory, Linear Regression Techniques and Analysis of Variance.
  • Candidate must demonstrate capability to quantitatively assess sensor performance and tactics in terms of appropriate MOEs and MOPs. Must also be capable of determining new MOEs and MOPs to more accurately assess proposed new tactics.
  • Must be knowledgeable of statistical techniques for generating quantitative assessments based on statistically insignificant data sets.
  • Must possess a significant level of understanding in probability and statistics and be proficient in the use of statistical analysis software (SAS) and MATLAB software.
  • Must possess a significant level of understanding in the Design of Experiments.

A government security clearance to the level of SECRET is required.
