PURVIS ENS to be Deployed in Effort to Provide Efficient Communications and Improve Safety and Security for Education Settings
Phoenix, Arizona – PURVIS Systems Incorporated, an IT systems and service provider for public safety, emergency management and defense industries, today announced that its Emergency Notification System (PURVIS ENS) will now be offered to educational institutions through MAXIMUS (NYSE: MMS), one of America’s leading government services companies that provides program management, consulting and information technology services. The goal of the agreement between PURVIS and MAXIMUS is to deliver faster and more effective mass communications throughout preK-12 and higher educational settings. Through its Educational Services Division, MAXIMUS will resell PURVIS ENS as its exclusive emergency notification offering, along with a complete set of management tools designed for all levels of the educational system. The two companies will demonstrate and discuss the benefits of their respective technologies at the upcoming Safety & Security Workshop from School and College Planning & Management magazines, which will take place Nov. 13-16 in Baltimore, MD.
With the use of PURVIS ENS, any educational institution will be able to send mass notification of an emergency or other important announcement to hundreds of constituents in a matter of minutes, making use of a variety of channels such as text messages, emails and phone calls. PURVIS ENS will be offered in conjunction with the MAXIMUS Educational Services Division’s preK-12 educational management software, enabling institutional leaders, such as superintendents and principals, to maintain consistent, rapid communications using an intuitive, secure system. In addition to critical emergency situations, applications of the system could include anything from snow days to meeting notifications.
"After witnessing the tragedies that have resulted from on-campus violence over the past several years, it is apparent that schools, colleges and universities have a need for better communication tools that can quickly inform students, parents and faculty of a potentially dangerous situation," said John Desposito, president, PURVIS Systems. "We are thrilled to have MAXIMUS be a provider of PURVIS ENS, allowing these institutions a faster, more efficient notification system across their communities. Communications can often spell the difference between a life saved or lost in emergency scenarios, and the combination of MAXIMUS and PURVIS ENS can be a significant safeguard for educational institutions of all sizes."
Using PURVIS ENS, school officials are able to select individuals to which a message should be sent and, with a single transmission, notify the selected recipients through the channel of their choice; a time saving alternative to making each phone call separately or relying on the traditional method of a phone tree. In just under two minutes, message recipients are informed of the alert and can respond to the sender, as necessary. The process is equally as rapid for mass announcements, where an official sends a notification to an entire group within an institution, or the entire campus, if necessary. The agreement will enable PURVIS to maximize the reach and impact of the ENS system within all levels of the educational market.
The MAXIMUS Higher Education Practice provides its clients with the highest level of professional consulting services available, enabling wider recognition for PURVIS ENS among key institutional decision-makers. The Higher Education Practice has grown to serve more than 130 top academic research institutions and continues to provide high quality services to the higher education community. In addition, MAXIMUS offers preK-12 institutions TIENET©, a single program providing three applications to be used separately or as one coordinated system for Instructional Data Management, Response to Intervention (RtI) Management and Special Education Case Management. TIENET has been endorsed by the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) as a solution that helps promote the professional standards and practice of special education. "MAXIMUS has built its success on providing quality solutions that meet the critical needs of its education clients," said Dr. Philip E. Geiger, President of the MAXIMUS Educational Services Division. "The addition of PURVIS Systems’ state-of-the-art Emergency Notification System enables us to help clients improve security and safety on campus."
